Healthwise Medical Review Board

The Medical Review Board is led by Healthwise's Medical Director, Dr. Steven L. Schneider, who is a board-certified Family Practice physician. Healthwise has five Associate Medical Directors, who are all board-certified: Dr. Henry S. Elzinga, Internal Medicine; Dr. Terry Golden, Family Practice; Dr. William M. Green, Family Practice and Emergency Medicine; Dr. Joy Melnikow, Family Practice; Dr. Patrice Burgess, Family Practice; Dr. Adam C. Husney, Family Practice; and Dr. Michael J. Sexton, Pediatrics. Together, these eight physicians conduct initial and final reviews of all Knowledgebase topics and are involved in the updating of all Healthwise publications and products.

Other members of the Medical Review Board review Knowledgebase topics from the specialist's point of view based on current clinical practice. All members are board-certified in their specialty area. Many of them have academic appointments at the nation's leading schools of medicine, are actively involved in research, and are published in peer-reviewed journals and medical textbooks. Most important, they share the Healthwise commitment to empowering patients with reliable health information and building strong patient-provider relationships.
